“The Glove”

Macel Saddles

Equine Ergonomics

The red line inside the white circle illustrates the most important part of the rider; the upper thighs.

The rider upper thighs hug the area of the horse thoracic vertebrae where lateral bending and transversal rotation occur.

To be efficient, the rider needs to be in neutral balance over the seat bones with the ASIS, (Anterior Superior Iliac Spine) advanced between the forearms.

Precise contact of the upper thigh demands a saddle comfortable for the horse and yet as narrow as possible between the rider upper thighs.

The design of the Macel Samba fits large horses, such as Chazot, Thoroughbred, 18,1’, and yet allow precise contact and stability and adjustments of the rider’s upper thighs.

The Glove,” which is the nickname of Chazot’s saddle, as it fits him like a glove, is a Samba S, Medium tree, 17.5,’ seat, TM panels.
