“Horses damp the spring in their step”. (Alan M. Wilson, M. Polly McGulgan, Anne Su & Anton J. van den Bogert)
“A catapult action for rapid limb protraction”. (Alan M. Wilson. Ohanna C. Watson)
Studies after studies, the horse’s superb capacity to save muscular energy using the elastic recoil of long tendons, is demonstrated.
Horses are designed to trot with suspension.
Such suspension is created educating the horse vertebral column’s biomechanical properties.
Digital manipulations have simplified the horse to a few grey and white patches but the music emphasizes the movement. When the limbs movements loose the rhythm, the source of the problem resides in the horse’s vertebral column mechanism. The rider acts on the horse’s vertebral column and the limbs movements regains suspension, amplitude and cadence.

Advanced scientific studies are considering the though that it is not the legs that create back problem as previously believed, but rather the proper functioning of the vertebral column mechanism that refines the legs movements.
Perfecting nature with the aid of the art was Mr. de la Gueriniere’s dream.
Francois Robichon de la Gueriniere (1688-1751) is regarded by almost every school in the world as the father of modern Equitation.
The French author published in 1731 “Ecole de Cavalerie” but his greatest legacy is the wonderful gymnastic exercise know as “The Shoulder In”
Hoping to further Mr. de la Gueriniere’s dream we are presenting video sequences which beauty, originality, or pertinence, will help to further understand the horse’s nature.
This first presentation was initially created to educate the eye of the Boulder School of Massage Therapy’s students.
Hope you will have fun.-Jean Luc Cornille
