Case StudiesHorses are coming at the Center for performances or soundness issues that cannot be resolved through conventional approaches.
Their reeducation and successes are closely documented.
Their story provides invaluable insights to horses' owners, riders, and trainers facing similar problems.
Many cases will be review along this series, navicular syndrome, contracted tendon, kissing spine, cold back, idiopathic lameness etc. The first "Case Study" available on DVD is not about injury but rather performance.
"The Horse who would not Jump the water" (DVD)
The horse had the mean, athletic abilities, and mental capacities to resolve most Grand Prix courses' difficulties.
However his talent never went beyond the red and white flags of a water jump. For years, the horse would not jump the river.
In line with traditional thinking, the problem was initially treated as a behavior issue.
It was in fact a physical problem. A torsion of the spine that induced painful sensations at the landing of low and long jumps.
The DVD commences with a frame by frame view of the horse jumping, in style, a Grand Prix type water jump.

Currently at the center, two "case studies" are in reeducation. One presents a situation referred to as "Kissing Spines." The other's problem is referred to as "Cold Back."
